Facebook is poised to overtake YouTube as the leading video advertising platform. A recent survey from video advertising technology company Mixpo found that Facebook video could overtake YouTube as the top video advertising platform in 2015.
The Ad Council’s anti-discrimination video “Love Has No Labels” made it to the top of YouTube’s most popular ads for March 2014. Posted on March 3, the spot quickly became a viral hit, garnering more than 50 million views to date.
The YouTube Ads Leaderboard showcases the most creative ads that people choose to watch each month. Ads are determined by an algorithm that factors in paid views, organic views, and audience retention (how much of a video people watched).
For all brands, maintaining a unified image is paramount. While many brands such as Kellogg’s, Unilever, and Heineken have embraced programmatic, there is still some uncertainty as how best to harness the full potential of programmatic for branding purposes.
